Thousands of Bernie or Bust Voters Storm Los Angeles as DNC Creates Oligarchic Platform
Hollywood, CA. June 26, 2016. Thousands of Bernie or Bust voters took to the streets of Hollywood, CA in support of Bernie Sanders, in opposition to Hillary Clinton and in opposition to the DNC’s proposed platform. Their gripe with the platform is that it shafted the 99% in favor of the top 1 percent, the war profiteers, the oil industry and the cause of genocide. There were so many marchers that, at one point, the march strung around two major intersections at once. At its height, a couple of reporters estimated that the crowd had reached five to ten thousand.
In the vote counting that has continued since June 7th, both Los Angeles and San Francisco have flipped for Bernie Sanders. This is no surprise to poll workers who had reported that the reported results were the opposite of what they had personally observed at their polling places.

Before and after the march, rallies were held at CNN’s headquarters at the intersection of Sunset and Cahuenga. The crowd loudly booed CNN’s bias and lack of honest news coverage, letting any CNN staff present at the building know exactly how they felt about the network that once was considered a actual news agency. There were also chants against CNN during the march.
Though CNN did not appear to have any reporters present to report on the event, Greg Palast, one of the most renowned and respected investigative reporter in America and the Western World, was at the rally to announce that Bernie Sanders had, in fact, won the State of California. Greg Palast (BBC, London Guardian) has conducted a full analysis of California’s 2016 Presidential election data. He went over the numbers establishing that Bernie Sanders won California’s Presidential Primary. He asked the crowd to report the news to CNN as they had missed it. CNN had claimed that, with 100% of precincts reporting, Hillary Clinton had won. However, 1,959,900 (almost 2 million) ballots had not been counted when CNN reported all ballots had been counted. Palast went on to compare the theft of the nomination to the theft of the 2000 Presidential election. He called on everyone to go to WWW.Gregpalast.com to download the Seven Ways to Beat the Ballot Bandit comic book. (See video of his speech below.)

Rosario Dawson told this reporter that she hoped Bernie stays in the race after the Democratic Convention. Dawson began her speech to the enthusiastic Bernie or Bust crowd, by holding up a “I AM STILL SANDERS” sign and stating she was still with Sanders, “all the way.”
Dawson pointed out that, if the Clinton supporters wanted unity, they should stop violently attacking Bernie supporters and do a platform that recognized the things the public cares about. She noted that the DNC platform replaces health with no health, no war with war, no fracking with fracking and education with no education. She noted that the Congressional sit-in was about looking good and not doing good. She explained that that the no fly (terrorist) lists tend to have Congressmen, veterans and people not associated in any way whatsoever with terrorism on them. She added that, if the Congressional Democrats wanted to sit in on the gun issue, at at the very least, they should ask for background checks. She hasn’t seen Congressional sit-ins for education, universal health care, or immigration. She informed the audience the Democrats had either abstained or had voted with the Republicans to deny farm workers overtime pay.
With agreement from the crowd, Dawson characterized AP’s calling of the nomination for Clinton before the California primary,, “voter suppression.” A delegate to the DNC, Dawson is willing to be arrested. (See video of her speech below.)

Other speakers included: Rayee Alexander Berrera (co-founder of Cal State L.A. for Bernie Sanders), television writer James Berksaid, Bruce Carter (founder of Black Men for Bernie), Yolanda Gonzalez (lead organizer with Unidos Con Bernie California), KPFK program director Alan Minsky, YahNe Ndgo (singer, writer), and Senate candidate Steve Stokes.
A dunking booth had been set up to raise money for the delegates. Rosario Dawson donated $700 to the cause and agreed to be dunked, more than once. (See video below of her final dunking.)
The march took place in Adam Schiff’s district. If he votes for Clinton at the convention, then he may wind up unemployed. Schiff may be counting on his Congressional assistance to the war, fracking and banking industries in Congress to net him a lucrative post-Congressional position working against the interests of the 99% and not care about the fact that his district voted for and strongly supports Bernie Sanders.
